The Village of Hastings is home to great selection of annual events and celebrations throughout the Summer. Plan early to attend. The following list is a month-by-month summary of key events that occur on an annual basis.

Hastings is home to 2 farmer’s markets during the summer from May to October. Saturdays 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 PM – parking lots at the Post Office (corner of Front & Bridge Streets) and Northumberland Tractor Parts.
Hastings Riverview Auction
Hastings is home to the famous auction hall where you will find a wide assortment of antiques and collectables. The Riverview was the former dance hall in Hastings, complete with the dome roof. It is open every Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M.
Midnight Madness Fishing Contest
Fishing season begins every year around the end of May after spawning is completed. The Hastings Historical Society celebrates the start of the season with a fishing contest for all age groups. Meet at the bridge at midnight where there will be fun and prizes for everyone from the first fish to the largest fish.
Community Yard Sale & BBQ
The first gigantic community yard was held in May 2011. It was such a huge success that the Hastings Revitalization Association will host one every year at the Hastings Ball Diamond (corner of Bridge and Front streets).

Canada Day Celebrations – Parade & Fireworks
July 1st is Canada Day and a favourite holiday in Hastings, hosted every year by the Hastings Parade Committee. The day begins with music and entertainment for kids at the ball diamond, and everyone at the gazebo. The celebration continues with a fabulous Parade at 2:00 P.M. meandering down Albert Street and along to Front Street. The day ends with our now famous Waterfront Fireworks display at dusk.
Hastings Founders Week Celebration
The first Founders Week took place in August 2010. It was a week-long celebration of the heritage of Hastings’ and was dedicated to this years’ 200th Anniversary. The success of the first Founders’ Week prompted the formation of the Hastings Founders Week Committee. Hastings Waterfront Festival & Local Art Show
The first Waterfront Festival took place in 2008. The event is held every year at the Hastings Marina and is hosted by the Hastings Waterfront Festival Committee. Friday evening features music and a BBQ in the evening. Saturday features antique boats, cars and motorcycles, and a day-long arts and craft festival along with a wide variety of interesting vendors. The following year saw the start of the amazing First Annual Hastings Art Contest. People come from far and wide to enjoy the celebration of boats, art and food – www.hastingsfestival.ca.
High Speed Power Boat Poker Run
This event takes place every year in early September. Moor your boat at the North Seawall and join in the fun.
Tony Edwards 5 KM Walk/Run
This event is hosted by the Hastings Revitalization Association and is an annual event in memory of Tony Edwards, who was a well-known gentleman and municipal councilor who lived and worked in the Hastings area.
